Harvard University’s Introduces AI For Grading
The renowned CS50 course at Harvard University, a popular introductory computer science programme, is getting a ChatGPT-style makeover. Professor David J. Malan, known for his dynamic teaching style, is leading efforts to integrate AI into the course curriculum, with plans to use AI to grade assignments, provide coding instruction, and provide personalised learning tips.Hundreds of students attend CS50 on campus and over 40,000 online.
Professor Malan and his colleagues are working on an AI system and a virtual teaching assistant to provide personalised assistance to a diverse student body. This method will allow students to improve their coding skills while also giving human TAs more time to conduct office hours.
Malan recognizes these concerns but believes that CS50’s embrace of AI can improve the quality and accessibility of online learning, aligning with the industry, Grand View Research forecasts predict that the online education market will triple in value to $348 billion by 2030.
