Google Updates Ad Policies For Cryptocurrencies
Google has revised its ad policies to allow crypto currencies and companies working with crypto to advertise on the platform. However, these companies will face strict scrutiny and must adhere to specific conditions to ensure investor safety. Starting January 29, 2024, advertisers of cryptocurrency coin trusts will be allowed to market their products in the United States through Google ads.
However, they must comply with local laws and be certified by Google. Google also clarified that advertisers promoting cryptocurrency exchanges or wallets can advertise through Google Ads, but must undergo certification and comply with local legal requirements. The move aims to balance promotional content with investor protection.
The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is set to issue a verdict on Bitcoin and Ether ETFs in January 2024, coinciding with Google’s planned changes to its advertising policies.
