Etihad Airline’s Mission Possible
By Ruchi Sharma
Would you believe that this Daredevil stunt has been performed to advertise an airline’s new Endeavour …well it’s hard to believe but United Arab Emirates airline Etihad Airways crew actually jumped of an airborne jet to create a never seen, never heard before promotion in true Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible Style…and needless to say we are Blown away…..
This stunt is the most recent in a string of advertising promotions for the movie Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, which had several major scenes filmed at the Midfield Terminal of Abu Dhabi International Airport. What is the association between Etihad and Mission Impossible you ask?
Well! The first A380 superjumbo flights since the pandemic are being resumed by Etihad. Additionally, Etihad unveiled a number of low-cost flight fares dubbed “Impossible Deals.”
Furthermore, Etihad Airways is embracing the web 3 space. Etihad promises holders of its Polygon-based EY-ZERO1 NFT collection that it will soon release a new 300-edition extension with a slew of new perks.
A wider range of virtual and physical benefits are available with the new collection, such as priority check-in, a 25% increase in Etihad Guest Miles earned, access to the Etihad: Virtual Club, lounge access at Abu Dhabi International Airport, a 12-month Etihad Guest Silver Tier Status, a quick route to upgrade to Gold Tier status, and a personalized Etihad membership card.
The limited-edition model is the eleventh 3D airplane model in the EY-ZERO1 NFT series which was released in July 2022. The new NFTs released on August 1 are made to resemble the Boeing 787 Dreamliner with the Mission: Impossible logo.
The community will be able to lock up their NFTs to earn Etihad Guest Miles through the launch of Etihad’s “Horizon Club” Web3 loyalty programme in September. After accrued, miles can be exchanged for travel, hotel stays, and other benefits.
The real-world asset tokenization company Arcube, an official Web3 partner of Etihad Airways, worked with the airline to generate the new NFTs and Crossmint, an infrastructure company, is enabling credit card or cryptocurrency payments.
