Etherscan Seeks $1 mn Annual Sponsorship
Ethereum blockchain explorer Harith has requested $1 million per year to finance developments related to Ethereum Name Service (ENS).
The funding proposal aims to leverage for the continuous development, support, and coverage of hosting fees related to ENS on Etherscan and the team-operated block explorers.
Harith emphasizes the importance of ENS names on top-tier block explorers for sustaining and fostering its ongoing usage and adoption.
The proposal also aims to expand the current support for.eth names to include additional domains like.xyz and.art, support off-chain names using CCIP, and incorporate support for DNS-based names like.com.
The funding proposal seeks to build several beneficial features for Etherscan, including extending ENS support to Ethereum Layer 2 explorers, Optimism, Arbitrum, Polygon, Base, Linea, and Scroll.
