    Coinbase has released x402 V2, the latest version of its stablecoin-based payments protocol designed for AI agents. The update introduces wallet-based identity, automatic API discovery and support for multiple chains and fiat currencies.

    The protocol allows developers to embed autonomous payments directly into AI workflows, moving closer to real-world agent-to-agent commerce. Coinbase says the upgrade makes the system more modular and extensible, reinforcing its push into AI-driven financial infrastructure.
