Coinbase has expanded its product lineup by launching stock trading and prediction markets, advancing its ambition of building an “everything app” that goes beyond digital assets. The announcement was made at the company’s year-end conference by Max Branzburg, head of consumer and business products.
Branzburg confirmed that stock trading is now available on Coinbase, describing it as a milestone toward enabling round-the-clock trading of stocks and exchange-traded funds using crypto-based infrastructure.
He also announced the launch of prediction markets through a partnership with Kalshi, with an initial rollout starting immediately and wider availability planned later.
The move follows earlier signs that Coinbase was developing such offerings and aligns with its July rebrand of the Coinbase Wallet into a broader application featuring social tools and in-app experiences.
Coinbase also plans to introduce perpetual trading next year, allowing leveraged bets on crypto and stocks, further blending traditional markets with digital finance products for global users.
