Bugs Discovered On Ordinals Protocol
Bitcoin prices have risen above $30,000 for the first time in more than eight months. The uptick coincides with the discovery of an indexing bug in the Ordinals protocol, which allows users to create NFTs on Bitcoin.
A bug in the Ordinals protocol was discovered, causing approximately 1,200 inscriptions that were supposed to be included in Bitcoin to be excluded, despite the fact that they were all valid. Because the indexing flaw only caused the protocol to pick out inscriptions in the first transaction input, these “orphaned” inscriptions.
With the bug now known, the Ordinals protocol community has proposed two solutions to the problem of orphaned inscriptions and the resulting numbering error.
