Bloomberg Analyst Now Expects Spot Ethereum ETFs To Launch On July 2
Bloomberg’s senior ETF analyst, Eric Balchunas, has revised his prediction of the launch date for spot ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) to July 2nd.
This move follows light comments from the SEC Staff on issuers’ S-1 filings. Balchunas believes that there is a decent chance that the SEC will approve the filings next week, aiming to finalize them before the holiday weekend.
The SEC approved 19b-4 filings for eight spot ether ETFs last month, but still needs to approve S-1 (registration statement) filings before ETFs can launch.
The analyst believes that there is a “decent chance” that the SEC will declare the S-1 filings effective next week and finalize them before the holiday weekend.
He clarified that his previous over/under was July 4th and that this revised prediction is not a “major shift.” He added that once S-1 filings are approved, ETFs typically go live the next day.
