Blockchain.com has received a Markets in Crypto-Assets license from Malta’s Financial Services Authority, allowing it to offer regulated custody and wallet services across 30 EEA countries.
The move marks a key milestone in its European compliance strategy. CEO Peter Smith said Malta’s “clarity and position” make it ideal for expansion.
The company also appointed Fiorentina D’Amore, chairperson of the Financial Institutions Malta Association and former Bitpanda and eToro executive, as head of EU operations. D’Amore will oversee growth and institutional services, including treasury management across Europe.
