Bitcoin Miner Hive Delays Latest Financial Filings
Hive Blockchain (HIVE), a Bitcoin (BTC) mining company, has announced that it will postpone the release of its interim financial statements for the three and nine month periods ending December 31, 2022.
Hive has requested a management cease trade order (MCTO) from the British Columbia Securities Commission, which prevents its CEO and CFO from trading shares until the filing is completed.
The late filing was caused by an unexpected tax notice in relation to one of Hive’s European subsidiaries, the company stated on February 15th.
According to Canadian securities law, the filings were due by February 14th. Hive said it will now file by February 28 and expects to do so by February 21.
The British Columbia Securities Commission says companies filing interim statements late receive a penalty of 200 Canadian dollars ($149) and are subject to potential cease trade order without further notice.
