Arbitrum Community Backs 200 mn ARB Plan To Attract Web3 Game Builders
The Arbitrum community has approved a governance proposal to allocate 200 million ARB ($250 million) as incentives for game developers over the next three years. The Gaming Catalyst Program (GCP) aims to increase awareness and adoption of Arbitrum/Orbit/Stylus by builders and players in the gaming community.
The proposal has passed a preliminary temperature check vote with nearly 97% support in March. Arbitrum is the largest Ethereum Layer 2 network by total value locked (TVL) and the fifth-ranked network by DeFi.
The GCP will allocate 160 million ARB for “onboarding and growth,” including establishing the “Build Grants” program. The remaining 40 million ARB will go towards infrastructure and tooling development, while an additional $25 million is requested to cover legal and compliance costs, marketing and infrastructure, and team member salaries. The GCP council will oversee the incentives program.
