88% Indians Unaware Of AI Tools: Survey
A private survey issued on Tuesday highlighted the lack of awareness and restricted use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in India, revealing that 88% of Indians are ignorant of these capabilities. Another 9% of those polled are aware of these tools but do not use them.
According to the India Consumer Sentiment Index, published by consumer data analytics firm Axis My India, barely 1% of respondents polled stated they utilise AI products on a daily basis. One percent of the 9,567 respondents utilise these tools occasionally, while another percent uses them seldom.
Furthermore, 26% of those who were aware of these tools believe they have the potential to replace human occupations. 25% of those polled disagreed. The remaining 49% believe that AI can only replace repetitive or ordinary tasks.
28 percent of respondents who agreed to use AI technologies on a daily, occasional, or infrequent basis stated it helped improve efficiency and productivity in workplaces and educational institutions. Another 22% claimed these products help them reduce workload and save time.
