7-Eleven To Host Virtual Car Meet In Metaverse
By Vishakha Thakur
If you are a car lover and a frequent visitor of an American convenience store chain – 7-Eleven, you are welcome to feast, of course in the virtual world.
The Irving, Texas, U.S. headquartered company is testing the waters of metaverse. Let me tell you that, the store chain has partnered with Fortnite to host a virtual car meet in metaverse.
This move is initiated in order to attract GenZ. The company owned by Japanese Seven & I Holdings, is bringing its long-running car-themed advertisement to metaverse. Well, 7-Eleven recently started a campaign trail by offering its customers an opportunity to design an official car of 7-eleven as fans loved to share their #Carsof7Eleven pictures on social media.
The Model 711 car was built by fans and was inspired by some 7-eleven snacks such as Big Bite hot dog.
And now, to bridge the divide between metaverse and social media, the store chain has come up with an innovative idea. This will not just help generate interest among participants but ensure engagement in “scavenger hunt”. I will inform you about this part in a short while.
Basically, the store chain will post some clues on social media channels for all the consumers to help them find branded cars across a number of Fortnite Islands. If they are able to identify and locate them, they will gain an access to a special map of ‘There Car’ island, which features a custom built 7-Eleven store and gas station, where a virtual car meet will be held.
The game is titled as “scavenger hunt” and the main motive is to attract young consumers. Interestingly, if a customer posts a selfie of him in the island, they stand an opportunity to win exciting prizes like $500 in credits to be used for 7 Now Delivery as well as weekly fuel discounts at 7-Eleven. Aren’t you super excited about this hunting game…go try your luck.
