El Salvador Partners With Elon Musk’s xAI To Deploy Grok In Public Education

El Salvador has announced a landmark partnership with Elon Musk’s xAI to build the world’s first nationwide AI-powered public education system.

Led by President Nayib Bukele, the initiative will deploy xAI’s Grok chatbot to more than 5,000 public schools over the next two years, supporting over one million students and thousands of teachers.

Grok will serve as a personalized digital tutor, adjusting lesson difficulty to each student’s learning pace while remaining aligned with El Salvador’s curriculum.

xAI stated that the project will create new educational datasets, AI models, and frameworks tailored for safe, context-aware classroom use.

The announcement noted that the system aims to ensure consistent instruction across urban and rural regions. Bukele, who recently increased El Salvador’s Bitcoin reserves to 7,500 BTC, said the country is “pioneering AI-driven education.” Musk added that El Salvador isn’t waiting for the future of learning—“they’re building it.”

The initiative positions the nation as a global testbed for AI-assisted, blockchain-friendly education.
